The Secrets of OKC

Okies are, by and large, an open bunch. It’s not uncommon to have the person in line behind you at the grocery store or at the bar stool next to you give you their life story, unprompted. So it might be a little surprising to know that Oklahoma City holds a few secrets.

Don’t worry, these aren’t the kind of secrets where if we tell you, we’ll have to kill you. This isn’t Watergate. No cloaks or daggers here.

But for a state and city of such renowned openness, there are a few things that OKC likes to keep close to its chest.

Or how about downtown OKC’s workday population of mole people? (Ok, not really, but there is an entire network of tunnels downtown that link various buildings to each other, the tunnels are climate controlled and home to exhibits about OKC’s history)

Did you know that hiding a few floors up from street level on Automobile Alley is a collection of classic cars that would probably raise Jay Leno’s eyebrows?

On the subject of Automobile Alley, did you know that stretch of Broadway is home to three different rooftop gardens for your enjoyment?

Our first installment will start off simple in our examination of the not-so-deep, not-at-all-dark world of OKC’s secrets with a look at two “secret” (well, more like hidden) record stores in Confluence’s home, the Plaza District.
