Get the Deets: Everything You Need to Know About Attending Confluence 2016

The time is almost upon us: Confluence Conference is just around the corner – or just down the street, for many of us, and we couldn’t be more excited to come together and learn how to dominate the digital landscape. If you’ve got questions, hopefully, we’ve got the answers below. If not, reach out to us: we’re here to help.

Last-Minute Registrations

Why yes, we do take last-minute registrations. Procrastinators fear not; we’ll save you a seat. Just bring a legit form of identification, some plastic to pay the bill ($275), or your checkbook (old school), and we’ll have you on your merry way.

Parking

Finding a parking spot for Confluence in years past has been a bit tricky, but this year, Will Rogers has you covered. You can park for free in the lot adjacent to the building. Enter from NW 43rd Street off Western Avenue.

Hotel

Confluence out-of-towners, you’re in for a real treat. We’ve partnered with the 21C Museum Hotel, just down the road from our venue, to provide a place to rest your head and a wicked cool experience while you’re at it. Take advantage of our group rate of $169 a night with our code, 1609BIGWIN. You can call reservations at 877-217-6400, call the hotel directly at 405-982-6900, or book your stay online.

We also have a block of rooms available for $119 a night at the Hilton Garden Inn at 2809 NW Expressway – no code necessary, just tell them you’re with Confluence Conference (mention BigWing and they’ll hook you right up).

Check-in

We try to keep the check-in process fairly simple so you can hurry to the food – just kidding, the speakers. We’ll just verify your name, make sure you’re all paid up, and hand over your swag and trusty lanyard. Don’t lose this! It’s got drink tickets for later.

Seating

Will Rogers Theater does, in fact, have theater-style seating, with plenty of comfy chairs all on the ground level. We’ll have several pub tables set up in the back so you can move around easily and, you know, network.

Food

We heard your cries last year for some slightly – ahem – healthier options (although it’s hard to turn down pizza and donuts), so we’ve switched up the menu this year. You’ll be seeing lighter, more nutritious, less snooze-inducing fare, plus vegetarian options. Stay hydrated and caffeinated with free coffee, tea, and water all day long.

Wi-Fi

Brace yourselves – many, many tweets are coming. We’ve prepared our Wi-Fi fortress to (hopefully) withstand the influx of digital marketers doing what digital marketers do. The network should be easy access – no password (or dongle) required.

Happy Hour

The party doesn’t stop when Day 1 ends. Join us for Happy Hour and get to know your fellow Confluencers over a few drinks. We’ll be hanging out at 51st Street Speakeasy, just a half mile north of Will Rogers Theater, starting at 7 p.m. Thursday night. Be sure to stop by, and remember to bring your drink tickets!

Where to Eat Dinner

Looking for a place to grab some grub before Thursday night’s Happy Hour? The Western Avenue district and surrounding areas have no shortage of options. Some of our recommendations in close proximity include Sushi Neko right next door to the theater, VZD’s a block to the south, The Wedge Pizzeria, Whiskey Cake, Upper Crust, Republic Gastropub, Sauced on Paseo, and Iron Star Urban Barbeque.

Attire & Extras

We keep it pretty casual at Confluence Conference, so feel free to wear your typical Friday attire on Thursday and Friday. Jeans are fine. The theater has been known to get a little chilly, so bring a jacket just in case. Bring a stack of business cards, your phone charger, and a hefty thirst for knowledge.

We can’t wait to see you there!
