Where’s the beef? It’s at Meat House Food Truck

I appreciate restaurants that focus on doing a few things well, as opposed to trying to do a bit of everything. In case you hadn’t noticed from the name, Meat House falls into this category. If you were looking for more options, maybe a vegetarian favorite, look elsewhere.Truck-Side-(web)

Meat House lets the meat speak for itself. These sandwiches aren’t swimming in any fancy sauces. They haven’t gone wild with seasoning. It’s this simple – here’s some excellently-cooked steak on a bun.

So let’s get to the meat of this story:

Meat House menu

In my most recent run-ins with Meat House, I’ve kept with the steak theme. But they serve more, including poultry and sausage. You can get the Meat House food truck menu here.

I’ve tried two favorites – the renowned marinated steak tip sandwich and the Philly cheese steak. Here’s my take:

  • Steak Tip Sandwich: This may be one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. Really I think it’s because the sandwich is so simple. You get delicious juicy steak tips smothered in cheese on a pretzel bun. One bite of this sandwich and I knew I wanted to go back for more. Eat this sandwich.Steak-Tip-Sandwich-(web)
  • Philly: Not so hot on this one. In their defense, I feel like it’s impossible to get a good Philly unless you’re in Philly or the sandwich has been made by a Philadelphian. However, I may not be the best Philly judge. I’ve heard others say this option is the best on the menu. It’s worth a shot.Philly-(web)

The meaty goodness doesn’t stop there. Meat House also offers brisket and a pulled pork sandwich that I’ve heard great things about.

Why I love this truck

We’ve already talked about the fare. The other thing I love about this truck is the portions. HAPPY-(web)The sandwiches are big. And the Philly is monstrous. I’ve been to quite a few food trucks where the portions are small enough that you need a second lunch afterward. Not the case here. Meat House offers a few sides, but really the sandwiches are enough to fill you up.

Where you can find this truck

Meat House’s food truck is available for company events, parties, etc. They’re also on the go, and you can find their schedule here. Meat House also has a store location on the northeast corner of W Danforth and Santa Fe in Edmond.

Now go get those steak tips!
