What to Bring to the Conference location
- Pack plenty of business cards, you’ll be networking and meeting lots of new faces in your industry.
- Wear comfortable shoes and clothes, we have two full days of speakers with great presentations.
- If you bring your laptop or tablet, charge your batteries and pack power cables.
- Bring your mobile phone charger.
- If you like to take notes “old school”, bring paper, pens or pencils.
- Pack your wallet with cash and/or credit card in case you want to shop or buy your own lunch in The Plaza District. (Dinner is not provided either day of the conference)
Directions
If you’re coming in from out of town, point your GPS device to 1727 NW 16th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73106, the address of the Lyric Theatre, where all sessions are held. Confluence Conference is hosted in the heart of The Plaza District on 16th Street. If you’re coming from the south follow these directions, from the north follow these directions, and from the east (Tulsa), follow these directions. If you have difficulty locating The Plaza District, contact Confluence via Twitter (@ConfluenceCon).
Finding the Lyric Theatre
The Lyric Theatre is located at 1727 NW 16th Street in The Plaza District. The theatre has a scrolling electronic marquee and a red facade. It’s located on the north side of 16th Street. Farther west on 16th Street is the Lyric Theatre office building, this IS NOT the location of the conference. We will have someone in that lot on Thursday morning to make sure you know where to go.
Parking
There is limited parking lot space available for Confluence. The parking lot across the street from the Lyric Theatre (on the south side of 16th Street) is dedicated to Confluence parking but there are only about 20 spots in that lot. A lot attendant will be on site to ensure that only conference attendees are using that lot. Otherwise you must park on the street in The Plaza District (these spots are not metered) and along the street in the neighborhood (all day parking available).
Transportation from the Hotels
The official hotels of Confluence Conference 2015 are the Colcord, located in the business district, and Aloft, located in Bricktown. Thunder Cab (405-600-6161) is the official cab of the conference and they can transport you to and from Confluence. Both Uber and Lyft are very active in Oklahoma City but give yourself enough time to schedule rides from those services. Conference sessions begin at 9 AM on both Thursday and Friday.
Registration and Badges
The registration desk will be located in the lobby of the Lyric Theatre. Please check in on Thursday morning between 8 and 9 AM to receive your conference badge and packet. You will receive your tee-shirt, bag, and other materials when you check in with our registration desk.
Conference Mobile App
To help you take full advantage of our event, we are pleased to offer you Topi, our official conference app. Once you install the app on your device, you’ll find it helpful to access the event materials and interact with other participants.
Getting started is easy:
- Download Topi on your mobile device (iOS and Android) via
- Sign in to the app via LinkedIn or Facebook
- To join the event before September 10th, enter the code confluencecon
Once you arrive on Thursday morning, if you are within a few hundred yards of our conference location you will be logged into the conference automatically when you launch Topi. In Topi you’ll be able to see the conference schedule, view speaker bios, network with other attendees, follow the official conference hashtag, leave feedback, and much more. None of your information will be shared with other conference attendees unless you choose to connect with them on the app. We cannot provide app support for Topi on your mobile device.
Schedule
The conference schedule will be in your registration packet, and it’s also available on the conference website and on our conference mobile app (hosted by Topi). Any changes will be communicated promptly.
Attire
Confluence Conference is a casual event. Feel free to wear jeans, a tee-shirt, or business casual, it’s up to you. We want you to be comfortable.
Wireless
Wireless internet will be available in the Lyric Theatre. The network name is Confluence and it’s open without a password. Please be courteous to others and do not stream video or otherwise hog the wireless network by transferring large amounts of data.
Power Stations
We will be providing power strips along the floor of the theatre running along the aisles of seats for your convenience. Limited wall outlets will be available in the Lyric Theatre and we ask that you keep them clear for official conference needs.
Questions and General Information
Conference staff will be happy to assist you in any way we can. To locate a staff member go to the registration desk in the lobby of the Lyric Theatre or look for the folks with RED VIP lanyards holding their badges (we’re not really VIP, but apparently our lanyards are).
If you have an emergency, locate a confluence staff member or call the phone number on the back of your badge.
Lunch
You will be provided lunch on both days of the conference. On Thursday we will provide food from Big Truck Taco catered at the Lyric Theatre. On Friday you’ll be offered a choice of pizza from several Oklahoma City pizzerias. If you wish to grab lunch on your own there are several options within walking distance in The Plaza District including The Mule, Empire Slice House, Oak & Ore, District House, and Saints Pub. You can get to each of them by foot in 1-2 minutes, consult your registration packet for locations.
Social Media
The official hashtag of the conference is #ConfluenceCon. Use that hashtag when you are posting photos or updates to your social media channels. Follow these accounts for the official conference updates: @ConfluenceCon (Twitter) and @ConfluenceCon (Instagram). Important conference messages will be communicated on stage and also on the conference mobile app.
Taxis and Other Transportation
The official transportation provider of Confluence Conference 2015 is Thunder Cab (405-600-6161). You can also get around Oklahoma City via Uber and Lyft.
After Hours Party on Thursday Night
The After Hours Party is on Thursday night at 7 PM and all conference attendees are invited and encouraged to come. The event will be held at Fassler Hall, located at 421 NW 10th Street in the Midtown district of Oklahoma City. This is only a short ride from The Plaza District but we encourage you to carpool, drive or get a ride to the location. Here’s a map. You will be provided two drink tickets for Fassler Hall, which serves many local beers as well as other spirits. Food is also served at Fassler Hall, but we will not be providing dinner. Bring your ID.

Live! on The Plaza
After the conference concludes on Friday evening you are invited to step out onto The Plaza and enjoy Live! on The Plaza, the monthly art walk and community festival in The Plaza District. View art from OKC artists, enjoy a drink, great food, live music, and more.
Feedback
Within a week of the conclusion of the conference we will email a link to a survey so you can provide feedback. We also welcome feedback in person: seek out a member of the conference staff (red lanyards) if you have something to share. You can also supply feedback for each session/speaker on our conference mobile app.
